AZERBAIJAN, GEORGIA AND TURKEY WILL HOLD JOINT MILITARY EXERCISE

The ministers of defense of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Zakir
Hasanov, Irakli Alasania and Ismet Yilmaz met in Nakhijevan. In the
result of negotiations it was decided to hold two regular annual
meetings of ministers, Kazkazski Uzel reported. The sides agreed
to hold a joint military exercise simulating defense of oil and
gas pipelines.
The sides discussed issues relating to the military-political and
security spheres. The three ministers agreed that their countries
will develop military and political cooperation.
Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are implementing joint energy projects.
In particular, BAKU-Tbilisi-Geihan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzrum
and Baku-Supsa gas pipelines are operating.
Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is in the construction stage.
