In the first half of this year the amount of foreign investments in
the real sector was 446,341,800,000 drams of which direct investments
were 249,963,000,000 drams.
According to the National Statistics Service, top three countries are
Russia, Cyprus and Germany which made investments in Armenia.
In the same period, investments in the Armenian economy from Russia
totaled 213,194,600,000 drams, from the offshore Cyprus 67,032,100,000
drams and from Germany 48,109,800,000 drams.
In the same period, investments from the United States totaled
1,825,000,000 drams, UK 12,584,300,000 drams, France 8,646,500,000
drams.
In the first quarter, investments were made from offshore countries,
including 13,374,100,000 drams from Virgin Islands, 6,351,800,000
drams from Luxembourg, and 1,191,400,000 drams from the Seychelles.
Investments from the offshore were mainly directed at mining,
production of drinks, building, wholesale trade, and
telecommunications.
