Armenia's largest mobile network is expanding further

Throughout 2014 also VivaCell-MTS continued the coverage expansion and
network strengthening works across Armenia, with the aim of adding new
capacities to its powerful network in order to match the need for more
high-speed data and higher quality of voice in Yerevan and regions,
including transit highways and other routes. The Company's long-term
target is to address anticipated growth in data use forecasted for the
near future. Network modernization will allow introducing new
technological solutions required for providing the population with new
innovative products and services, the press service of VivaCell-MTS
reported.
Today VivaCell-MTS' technical team completes another base-transceiver
station in Dzoraghbyur village (near Yerevan). This additional base
station will provide the population with stronger coverage, higher
quality for voice services and higher speeds for accessing
internet/social networks.

One 2G and one 3G stations were installed in the village Akhuryan
(Shirak region), village Sarukhan (Gegharkunik), town Armavir (Armavir
region), village Verin Gosh and Dilijan International School (Tavush
region), village Urtsadzor (Ararat region), near Vayk-Saravan highway
(Vayots Dzor region), in Yeghvard (Kotayk region), on the 10.5th km of
Yerevan-Sevan highway, near Yerevan-Abovyan highway (Kotayk region),
Vanahovid district of Proshyan village (Kotayk region), district
Barabatum of Kapan (Syunik region) and in Vaghatur, Kornidzor and
Noravan villages (Syunik region).
Besides, 9 more 2G/3G stations were installed in Yerevan (Acharyan
Street, Tigran Mets Street, Rubiniants Street, Tbilisyan highway (near
Champaign Wine Factory), Malatia-Sebastia area, near Yerevan Mall and
Eurostan, Vahagni district, Nork Marash administrative area and in
Yerevan Mall for providing reliable indoor coverage.
Till the end of the year additional 14 sites will be put into
operation in Shamiram village (Aragatsotn region), Mayisyan/Zhdanov
village (Armavir region), Taperakan village, Ghukasavan and Nor Kyurin
villages of Ararat region, Garni village (Kotayk region), Sasuntsi
Davit Str., Shiraki Str., Davitashen 4th district, Mamikonyants Str,
Gagarin street (Noy district), Karmir Blur Str. and Bagrevand Str.
(Avan) in Yerevan.
Additional 50 LTE base stations will be functional in Yerevan,
Vagharshapat and Armavir cites by the end of this year. Over 45% of
populated areas will be provided with LTE coverage.
Newly deployed base station in Shamiram village (near Ashtarak) and
Dzoragbyur will go live within two weeks.
VivaCell-MTS has the largest and strongest network in Armenia, with
its 2.5G and 3G coverage available to more than 99.5% of the
population of Armenia.
The total number of VivaCell-MTS' sites at the end of the year will be
1090, where more than 2430 cellular base stations with 2G, 3G and 4G
technologies will be operational.
Continuous modernization of the network and capacity improvement is a
priority for VivaCell-MTS as the availability of communication
infrastructure is both a social and security issue. As a responsible
operator, VivaCell-MTS is determined to provide with mobile voice and
internet services even the most remote areas with small population and
potential consumption of services.
