Armenian Prime Minister Ovik Abramyan met with 7 representatives of
Nairit factory strikers. The PM promised to pay their debts in late
February and early January, meet with the minister for energy and
the director of the factory, as stated by Nairit spokesman Anush
Arutyunyan, Epress.am reports.
Abramyan noted that the problem of redundancies was not under
discussion because there was no point in keeping workers when it was
unknown when they would get payments. Arutyunyn added that the factory
would not be active for the next 1.5 years even if an investor appears,
so keeping the workers was pointless.
Over 2,000 workers of the factory have not been paid for 18 months.
