ARMENIAN PARTICIPANTS WIN 5 PRIZES AT RIGA SYMPHONY 2014 INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

Armenian participants won five prizes at the Riga Symphony 2014
International Festival of Popular Music and Original Song for
Young Performers held in the Latvian capital December 4-8. Armenia
was represented at the contest by four students of the "Do-Re-Mi"
vocal school.
Awards were handed in five nominations: "Original song," "World hit,
"Song by a Latvian songwriter," "Traditional or folk song from the
participant nation" and "Academic vocal song."
The contest featured 200 participants from 18 countries. Director of
the "Emmy-B" producing center Vrezh Kirakosyan was represented in the
jury. He told reporters today that Armenian children have received
invitations to participate in different international competitions.
