INMATE DIES IN PRISON WITHOUT RECEIVING MEDICAL TREATMENT

A criminal case has been launched based on the report filed by
the citizen Tamar T. as per the materials prepared in the Special
Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with
Article 308 (Part 1) and Article 309 (Part 2) of the Criminal Code,
the SIS Press Service reports.
Tamar T. reported that on August 6, 2014, an employee of Erebuni Police
Department beat her husband, exercised violence against him and then
took him to the Police Department where he was arrested after being
illegally detained for one day.
In addition, the employees of "Nubarashen" Criminal-Executive
Institution of the Ministry of Justice did not show any medical
assistance to her husband, as a result of which he died on November
26, 2014.
A preliminary investigation is underway.
