The question whether there should be a customs point on the
Armenian-NKR border is no longer on agenda, Nagorno-Karabakh's Prime
Minister Ara Harutyunyan said in an interview to Zhamanak newspaper.
When asked to comment on the effects the recent fluctuations on the
forex market have had on Nagorno-Karabakh's economy, he said that the
effects are the same as in Armenia. "The steps taken by the Armenian
Government to stabilize the situation have proved to be quite
effective. As a result, AMD is appreciating in both Armenia and
Nagorno-Karabakh," Harutyunyan said.
While presenting to the Byelorussian Parliament the agreement on
Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union on Friday, Foreign
Minister of Belarus Alexander Mikhnevich said that Nagorno-Karabakh
will not join the Union together with Armenia. "Armenia has respected
our wish and has added a point to the agreement saying that
Nagorno-Karabakh is not its part," Mikhnevich said.
