PRELATE TO PRESIDE OVER DIVINE LITURGY AT
HOLY MARTYRS CHURCH IN ENCINO
On Sunday, December 21, 2014, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian,
Prelate, will preside over Divine Liturgy at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino.
Following the service, the Prelate will preside over the annual Christmas
program of the Sunday School, which this year celebrates its 50th
anniversary, and will convey his New Year and Christmas well wishes to the
Sunday School family. The program will be held at "Avedissian" Hall. Guests
will be hosted to a luncheon by the Board of Trustees.

PRELATE CONVEYS NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS GREETINGS DURING VISIT TO MESROBIAN
SCHOOL
On Thursday, December 18, 2014, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh
Mardirossian, Prelate, visited Mesrobian School in Montebello to convey his
New Year and Christmas blessings and well wishes to the administration,
teachers, and students. His Eminence was accompanied by Holy Cross Cathedral
Dean, Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian, and Pastor, Rev. Fr. Asohd Kambourian.
Retired priest Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian and benefactors Mrs. Goharik
Gabriel and Zabel Iknadossian participated in the visit.
The Prelate and clergy were greeted by Principal David Ghoogasian,
administration members, teachers, and school board members, at the school
entrance, where he conducted the blessing of bread and salt. After a visit
to Ron and Goharik Pre-School, the Prelate and guests attended a Christmas
program presented by the students. Archpriest Father Nareg Shrikian gave a
heartfelt and moving historical and personal perspective of the church and
school. On behalf of the Mesrobian School family, Mr. Ghoogasian thanked the
Prelate for his visit and for his constant care and guidance. The program
concluded with the Prelate's message, who commended the students for the
wonderful program they had prepared and conveyed his wishes to all for a
happy and healthy New Year and a prosperous year for Mesrobian School. The
Prelate also delivered a special message on the upcoming centennial of the
Armenian Genocide. The visit concluded with a luncheon.

CHAMLIAN FIRST GRADERS PAY CHRISTMAS VISIT
TO THE PRELACY
In keeping with a beautiful tradition established in recent years,
on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, the first grade class of Vahan and Anoush
Chamlian School visited the Prelacy to convey their New Year and Christmas
well wishes to H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and to
receive the blessings of His Eminence.
The nearly 60 students, accompanied by their Principal Dr. Talin
Kargodorian, Vice-Principal Rita Kaprielian, teachers, and parents, were
welcomed by the Prelate and clergy at the St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen Chapel
where a brief prayer service was held. His Eminence was joined by Rev. Fr.
Boghos Tinkjian and Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian.
The visit continued at the Sulahian Reception Hall. Teacher Aida
Aghaian thanked the Prelacy for facilitating the annual Christmas visit and
stated that the students have learned about the Birth of Christ and are
prepared to hear his message on this occasion. Three students conveyed well
wishes to the Prelate on behalf of their peers.
After greeting the students with fatherly love, the Prelate went
over the Christmas story with them, speaking to them about Joseph and Mary,
the visit of the good shepherds and wise men and the gifts they offered to
the Baby Jesus Who was born in a modest manger on a cold night. His Eminence
commended the students for their knowledge of Christmas and reminded them
that Christ was sent by God as a gift for man, and it is their duty to
follow in His example by being good and loving one another as brothers and
sisters. He concluded by conveying his blessings to the administrators,
teachers, parents, and students, and wishing success to the School in the
fulfillment of its mission.
The students performed two group recitations for the Prelate and
presented His Eminence with Christmas gift baskets.

PRELATE PRESENTS PONTIFICAL "ST. MESROB MASHDOTS" MEDALS TO HAMAZKAYIN ANI
DANCE COMPANY DIRECTORS
On Saturday, December 13, 2014, Hamazkayin Ani Dance celebrated its
40th anniversary with a spectacular performance held at the John Waye
Performing Arts Center of Glendale High School. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh
Mardirossian, Prelate, attended the celebration and on behalf of His
Holiness Aram I presented "St. Mesrob Mashdots" medals to artistic directors
Yeghia Hasholian and Suzy Barseghian-Tarpinian. His Eminence was accompanied
by Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian.
At the conclusion of the program the Prelate was invited to the
stage to convey his message. His Eminence congratulated and commended the
directors, past and present instructors, dancers, and all those who work
behind the scenes to present audiences with impressive performances for the
past forty years. Having been acquainted with the artistic directors for
many years, the Prelate gave personal testimony of their commitment to the
preservation and celebration of our cultural identity. His Eminence then
announced that in response to his request, His Holiness Aram I was bestowing
the "St. Mesrob Mashdots" medal upon the directors in recognition of their
lifelong service, and proceeded to present the honorees with the Pontifical
Encyclical and insignias. On behalf of the Prelacy, His Eminence conferred a
letter of blessing to costume designer Jane Hasholian for her contributions.

"ART 4 ART" FINE STUDIO ART CELEBRATES 15TH ANNIVERSARY
On Wednesday, December 18, "Art 4 Art" Fine Art Studio celebrated
its 15th anniversary with an art exhibition and book presentation held at
"Armenak Der Bedrossian" Hall of St. Mary's Church in Glendale. The event
was held under the auspices of the Prelate, who was in attendance and
conveyed his congratulatory remarks to the studio's proprietor, renowned
artist Razmik Samvelts Hadjikian. St. Mary's Church pastors joined the
Prelate.
The exhibition featured works by the artist and his students. The
studio recently published a commemorative booklet chronicling the works and
exhibits of the artist in the last fifteen years. The booklet, sponsored by
the Prelacy, was presented at the event.
The Prelate congratulated Mr. Hadjikan and commended not only his
artistry but his good character, and applauded his valuable contribution to
bringing art and art appreciation to the younger generations.
