The Nagorno-Karabakh negotiation process is entering the stage of calm,
chairman of European Integration NGO Karen Bekaryan told reporters
on Thursday.
Speaking about the three Armenian-Azerbaijani presidential meetings
organized in 2014, the analyst said that Putin-Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting
followed the tensions of July-August. The second meeting took place
on the initiative of the American side following the escalation of
the situation in August. In his words, the first two meetings aimed
to ease the tensions. The third Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting was organized
by the French President.
"The downing of an unarmed Karabakh helicopter followed the Paris
meeting," Bekaryan said, adding that it further increased the tensions
in the negotiation process.
Regarding the role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, he said that
monopolization of the negotiation process by any of the mediators
poses a great threat.
