INDIA READY TO CONSIDER CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS FROM ARMENIA ABOUT DRUG QUALITY - OFFICIAL

YEREVAN, February 4. /ARKA/. Indian authorities are willing to consider
complaints and punish companies supplying low-quality medications
to the Armenian market, regional director of India's pharmaceuticals
export promotion council Abhay Sinkha said.

There is a strict system in the country for penalizing companies that
produce and export drugs of bad quality, he said.

Sinkha said the council's control and penalizing functions are
restricted, but it is closely cooperating with the respective bodies.

The overall aim is to maintain the country's good image, the Indian
    official said.

Last year India exported medications worth a total of $1.9 million
to Armenia and is the 20th - 21st in the list of countries supplying
    drugs to Armenia.

There are 254 medications of 42 Indian manufacturers registered in
the country. Sixty-one medications were registered in 2013. -0--
