MOTIVES COMPELLING AZERBAIJAN TO PANIC ARE CLEAR: ARMENIA'S NATIONAL SECURITY SERVICE

    15:27, 6 February, 2014

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 6, ARMENPRESS. The activity of the National Security
Service of the Republic of Armenia is based upon the facts, unlike
the relevant Azerbaijani structures, which can afford themselves to
introduce a mentally ill person as an Armenian saboteur for the sake
of organizing a "performance". As reports "Armenpress", the press
release issued by the Press Centre of the National Security Service
of the Republic of Armenia stated this. In particular the statement
runs as follows: "The National Security Service of the Republic of
Armenia issued a statement on February 5 of the current year, saying
that Armenian citizen Khachik Y. Martirosyan was arrested for spying
on behalf of Azerbaijan. The National Security Ministry of Azerbaijan
denied the links between the Azerbaijani special agencies and Khachik
    Y. Martirosyan in mass media and stated that they do not know the
    aforesaid individual.

Unlike the Azerbaijani relevant structures, which are capable to
introduce 77-year old Armenian citizen Mamikon Khojoyan, a mentally
ill person from the border regions, as an Armenian saboteur for the
sake of organizing a "performance", the activity of the National
Security Service of the Republic of Armenia is based upon the facts,
which in Martirosyan's case will be introduced at the trial.

The motives, which compelled the Azerbaijani side to panic, are clear
for us. We suggest waiting for the trial."
