EXPERT: EU TRYING TO KEEP TURKEY IN A STRAITJACKET
February 11, 2014 | 15:26
YEREVAN. - Turkey has always tried to be a party to the Karabakh peace
process. However, Russia and the U.S., the main geopolitical actors,
will not allow this, said turkologist Levon Hovsepyan.
He believes Turkey is becoming a problematic country even for the
European Union. Moreover, Ankara is becoming unpredictable for
its allies.
"EU tries to keep Turkey in a straitjacket. For Turkey there are
certain limits beyond which it is not allowed to move," he said.
Hovsepyan noted that recent statements by Western leaders had to
demonstrate that Turkey, with its current behavior, has no place
in Europe.
