LOW-QUALITY GAS SUPPLIED TO ARMENIA'S POPULATION, ACTIVIST SAYS
14:09 * 11.02.14
An employee of the ArmRusgasprom company has provided the Inranational
Liberation Movement with a picture of a device allegedly used for
reducing the caloric value of gas by mixing it with nitrogen.
Thus, the volume of gas is increased, Vahan Martirosyan the founder
of the Intranational Liberation Movement, told journalists on Tuesday.
Asked about the quality of gas imported from Russia, Martirosyan said
that gas of high caloric value reaches Armenia's border. However,
gas with reduced caloric value is supplied to Armenia's population.
He pointed out a precedent in Ukraine. The Ukrainian National Academy
of Sciences proved the gas was of low quality and the government went
to law.
As to lab tests, Martirosyan said that the labs are run by
ArmRusgasprom. So "they are testing themselves."
"I am sure that if they test the air Armenia's citizens are breathing
in rather than the liquid gas, they will show the air's caloric value
is 7,600, according to the state standards," he said.
According to Martirosyan, Armenia's research centers are "afraid of
conducting independent research."
As to the proof of his statements, Martirosyan said: "The whole nation
is complaining. Is it not the proof?"
