Armenian MP becomes Ukraine acting interior minister

The Verkhovna Rada (Supreme Council) of Ukraine--which is the
country's parliament--appointed Rada's Armenian member Arsen Avakov as
Acting Internal Affairs Minister, UNIAN news agency reports.
A total of 275 from the 324 registered MPs voted in favor of this decision.
Before the voting, however, Rada's newly elected chairman Oleksandr
Turchynov recalled that this appointment will be in force until the
formation of a coalition government.
Arsen Avakov was Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration from
February 2004 to February 2010.
