ROSNEFT COMPANY TO LAUNCH $500M INVESTMENT PROGRAM IN ARMENIA

Following a meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitri Medvedev
in Sochi, Russia, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan informed
reporters of some details of the meeting.
According to the Armenian government's website, the sides discussed
the process of Armenia's joining the Customs Union and the Common
Economic Space envisaged by the roadmap.
"We have discussed the measures Armenia has already implemented.
Russia appreciated the results of our working groups' activities.
We also discussed how Russia can assist us in more efficient
implementation of the roadmap. Grants are needed to create
infrastructures and a common database. We expect our partners'
support," Armenia's premier said.
The Armenian and Russian premiers also discussed the issue of Rosneft
Company's investment programs in Armenia.
"We listened to Rosneft President Igor Sechin's report. A $500m
investment program is to be implemented in Armenia. Within the
next few weeks, we plan to discuss the necessary conditions for the
program to be put into practice. The program will largely involve the
Nairit plant, as Nairit employees will mostly work at the new plant,"
Premier Rigran Sargsyan said.
