ARMENIA SCRAPS UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

According to the new law on employment passed in late 2013,
unemployment benefits will be scrapped, said Minister for Labor and
Social Affairs Artem Asatryan, Armenia Today reports.
He emphasized that one of the main priorities was to implement a
new employment model. Over ten active employment programs will be
initiated in 2014. Other priorities set for 2014 is implementation of
integrated social services, adoption of a new model for classification
of the handicapped.
