ARMENIAN FM BEGINS OFFICIAL VISIT TO CUBA

Havana, Cuba, Jan 10.- With a visit to Old Havana's historic area,
declared a Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1984, Eduard
Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia,
began an official visit to Cuba.
During the tour he was received by Lesbia Mendez, director for Heritage
of the City Historian Office, who accompanied him to important places
of sociocultural interest, like the Plaza de Armas, the Plaza Vieja
and the Plaza of Saint Francis of Assisi, as well as to emblematic
buildings like the Maqueta de la Ciudad and the Palacio de los
Capitanes Generales.
During his stay in Cuba, the distinguished visitor will hold official
talks with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez (on Friday morning), and
will carry out other activities and meetings with Cuban authorities,
according to the island's Foreign Ministry's Web site. (can)
