LACK OF PATRIOTIC EDUCATION A THREAT FOR COUNTRY - ARMENIAN MINISTER

YEREVAN. - Armenian Defense Minster said the values acquired during the
modern history of the Armenian nation, as well as during Karabakh war,
must be properly transferred to younger generation to ensure future
development of our country.
Seyran Ohanyan on Friday held a final conference to sum up the 2013
activities on patriotic education in the educational institutions of
the republic.
Military-patriotic education of the younger generation is a part of
the right defense policy, foreign and internal policy.
"Together with the Ministry of Education and Science, the military
units were attached to schools and universities as well as orphanages
to carry out joint activities," Ohanyan said.
He added that the joint programs were carried out with the Ministry
of Diaspora. From the very first day of existence of the Ministry,
young people from Diaspora have been involved in different programs
on military education.
"We consider lack of patriotic education a threat to the country. A
state program of patriotic education for 2014 was submitted to the
government," the Minister noted.
