ARMENIAN SERVICEMAN DIES IN EXCHANGE OF FIRE AT BORDER OF SELF-PROCLAIMED NAGORNY KARABAKH

The armed forces of self-proclaimed Nagorny Karabakh have ceased an
attempt of border violations, the Nagorny Karabakh Defense Ministry
press office told Interfax.
"Early morning Monday the Nagorny Karabakh armed forces registered
two simultaneous attempts of Azerbaijani sabotage groups to enter
the line of Karabakh-Azerbaijani forces at northeastern [Dzhraberd]
and southeastern [Korgan] directions," the press office said.
"The foremost subdivisions of the Nagorny Karabakh armed forces have
taken an organized defense. The enemy's sabotage groups have been
repelled, having sustained considerable human and material losses,"
the Defense Ministry said.
Junior Sergeant Armen Ovannisian of the Karabakh side has died in
the exchange of fire, the ministry said.
