OSCE group co-chairs express concern over use of force in Nagorno-Karabakh

    VIENNA January 25

    - The co-chairs of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security
and Cooperation in Europe, during the talks in Paris on Friday on the
settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, expressed concern over
the recent cases of use of force in the region.

The organization in a statement noted the co-chairs of the group
(Russia, France and the United States), together with OSCE special
envoy Andrzej Kasprzyk, noted, addressing Azerbaijani and Armenian
Premiers Elmar Mamedyarov and Edvard Nalbandyan, who were
participating in the talks, that such cases undermined the talks and
obscured the prospects for the peaceful settlement.

The co-chairmen called on the parties of the conflict to fully and
strictly comply with the terms of the armistice agreement.

The government heads and the members of the Minsk Group discussed the
peaceful settlement process in light of the results of the Vienna
meeting of the presidents of the two countries in November last year.
The prime ministers reiterated the sides' readiness to continue the
work aimed at the peaceful settlement of the conflict.

During the Paris round of the talks, the co-chairmen agreed to visit
the region in the next few weeks to continue talks with the planned
    participation of the two presidents.
