ARMENIAN SIDE SHOULD REJECT MEETINGS WITH AZERBAIJANI ONE IF IT CONTINUES ACTING IN SUCH WAY - KIRO MANOYAN
14:30 / 27.01.2014
The wrong definitions of the accidents and in particular cease-fire
violations by the Azerbaijani side on the border voiced by Minsk
Group co-chairs and described by them as balanced approach in reality
encourage Azerbaijan to show that their aggressive policy is not
so unacceptable by them, ARF-D political affairs office head Kiro
Manoyan told the reporters on Monday.
He said that in this way the negotiations cannot progress. When the
parties of the negotiations are giving different reports and Azerbaijan
presents its wish as a reality and impedes the negotiation process.
"The time has come for the Nagorno Karabakh to participate in the
negotiations," Kiro Manoyan said. Speaking about the recent meeting
between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Manoyan said
that it gave no result, but added that if Azerbaijan continues getting
prepared for the meetings with such incidents the Armenian side must
refuse to hold them. "With it we will tell the international community
that such behavior is unacceptable," Manoyan stressed, adding that
he does not think that our authorities will do it as they always
want to be accepted well by the West. "But it is necessary to show
the international community that their so-called balanced approach
makes them associates with Azerbaijan," he stressed.
Speaking about the possibility of resumption of war, the speaker
said that the possibility of war every time becomes bigger when the
cease-fire is being violated. "But I am not sure that Azerbaijan will
start war. If it wanted it would have started it before. But it is
possible that its such like actions will result in war and we must
always be ready for it. The situation becomes tensed with the wrong
assessment of mediators and the preservation of their false balance,"
Manoyan said. He believes that Armenia is guilty in not having
an adequate stance. "We do not demonstrate enough confrontation,"
Manoyan said.
The expert stressed that Azerbaijan's goal is to fail the negotiations
as they are not satisfied of their pace. During the passed 14-15
years the international community understood that it is impossible
for Karabakh to be part of Azerbaijan.
Manoyan stressed that Armenia's diplomacy must work hard, be
more initiative and undertake serious steps for the international
recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh.
