Hraparak: Armenian authorities to tackle constitutional reforms alone
11:47 * 05.07.14
The Armenian authorities are said to have remained alone amid the
constitutional reforms and concerned that the opposition won't join
their public debates considering the proposed amendments.
The paper says that the Armenian Revolutionary
Federation-Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D), which initially backed the reforms,
now demonstrates a somewhat strange behavior. According to the paper,
the authorities are even ready to hear the opposition's 'no' but they
seek to see its presence at the meetings.
As for the parliamentary leadership, the paper says it now relies on
Gagik Jhangiryan, an opposition MP from the Armenian National
Congress, who, however, restricts himself with occasional gestures in
response to the calls for cooperation.
