CAUCASUS FLAVORS TASTING HELD IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, July 11. /ARKA/. A tasting of joint wine, tea, cheese and
honey products from Caucasus manufacturers was held in Yerevan on
    Thursday.

Five brands from the South Caucasus, the Caucasian Tea, Caucasian
Honey, Caucasian Cheese, Caucasian Herbal Tea and Caucasian Bouquet
(wine) were presented at the tasting.

These brands were created initiated by the Caucasian Business
and Development Network that held the tasting supported by the
    International Alert peacekeeping organization.

Vice-speaker of the Armenian parliament Hermine Naghdalyan prasied
the manufacturers for the quality and the taste of the products and
welcomed the key idea of the event - establishing peace and working
together in the conditions of unresolved conflicts.

The vice-speaker told participants what they were doing was a great
    deed.

"Caucasian tea, Caucasian cheese and wine - it is way to the big and
peaceful Caucasian home, it is a real peacekeeping', she said at the
    opening of the fair.

The fair showcased wines from Armenia, Georgia and Abkhazia,
cheese made from milk from Kars, Shirak and Javakhetia, honey from
    Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia, Abkhazia and Azerbaijan.

Armenia's ministry of agriculture provided its support to the project.

Head of fish farming and beekeeping department at the ministry Tigran
Alexanyan expressed his gratitude to the initiators and the willingness
to do their best to support good deeds.

Head of Sukhumi office of the Caucasian Business and Development
Network Yulia Gumba said the 'Caucasian Brands' project was launched
10 years ago and a number of various events was held in the South
Caucasus countries, Georgia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia in particular,
    since then.

'Our aim is not the business for the sake of business. The most
important is the peacekeeping function', she said.

The Caucasian Business and Development Network is a regional
organization of likeminded people who get economic actors and business
communities across the South Caucasus involved in their initiatives
for consolidating the trust and mutual understanding. -0--
