Turkish authorities deploy 25,000 police on anniversary of Taksim events

Several thousands of police officers have been transported to Taksim
square and Gezi park in the center of Istanbul.
The measures are taken due to the risk of uprising in connection with
the anniversary of last year's events when hundreds of demonstrators
occupied Taksim square.
Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned citizens against holding mass
protest actions, assuring that law enforcers were instructed to take
measure.
Security department blocked the subway and stopped ferries between
Asian and European parts of Istanbul. According to the authorities,
around 25 thousand police officers have been deployed in Taksim. Fifty
vehicles equipped with water cannons and a few dozen buses with
special forces are on duty, ITAR-TASS reported.
