LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/10/14 -- Fresh from a sizzling
stage performance in the world debut of the comedy-drama Unorganized
Crime, where he played opposite veteran actor, Chazz Palminteri (The
Usual Suspects, A Bronx Tale, Analyze This) at The Elephant Theatre
in Los Angeles, Jack Topalian will appear next on Transparent,
a brand new Amazon Prime original series starring Jeffrey Tambor
(Arrested Development, The Hangover I-III, There's Something About
Mary.) The groundbreaking new show examines the complicated issue of
gender reassignment, as Tambor's character tells his estranged wife
and adult children that he wants to live life as a woman.
"It is a great pleasure to work with such a talented cast," said
Topalian. "I'm thrilled to be able to create a role for a show that
is courageous enough to tackle hard-hitting social issues."
Jack Topalian has carved a niche for himself as Hollywood's leading
Armenian actor. He starred in three of the most popular series in
Armenian television history, Los, Immigrants, and The Sinners, and has
created characters for the Oscar-winning film Argo, TV's Southland,
Rizzoli & Isles, HBO's Luck, Showtime's Weeds, Ray Donovan, CBS'
Intelligence and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Jack wears the hat of creator in addition to his acting work. Earlier
this year, Topalian wrote, directed and starred in the feature-length
film Betrayal, playing a mob boss turned businessman opposite Eric
Roberts and Oleg Taktarov. The film enjoyed a special release in
select theaters and has since been sold in over a dozen foreign
markets including Germany, China, Mexico and Australia. IMDB ranks
Betrayal as #7 on MAFIA films and #24 on GANGSTER films.
Topalian also serves as the founder and head of T5 Media Group, a
Los Angeles based production company which is currently developing
scripts for multiple feature films, as well as a series for a major
cable network.
