June 14, 2014 | 07:42
YEREVAN. - World-renowned Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani S.p.A.
has filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Economy of Armenia,
and it is "fighting" in Armenian courts already for several years,
Zhamanak daily reported.
"The problem is that the Economy Ministry's Intellectual Property
Agency has permitted the 'Aygepat' Wine and Brandy Factory Ltd. to
put the ARMANI trademark on the labels of its produced brandy.
"In autumn of last year, the Administrative Court had found that it
[the trademark] has to be returned [to ARMANI]. Notwithstanding this,
company representative Aleksandr Nahapetyan has again appealed to
the Administrative Court," Zhamanak wrote.
