RECEPTION HONORING AMBASSADOR TATOUL MARKARIAN
On Monday, June 17, the community gathered at the Montage Beverly
Hills for a night of appreciation honoring His Excellency Tatoul Markarian,
outgoing Ambassador of Armenia to the U.S.
H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, delivered the
invocation and conveyed his well wishes to the Ambassador. Community
Leaders, Prelacy Executive Council members, Ladies Auxiliary members, and
parishes' representatives were also in attendance.
His Eminence commended Ambassador Markarian's distinguished
leadership and dignified representation of our homeland during his nearly
decade-long tenure, thanked him for serving with dedication, humility, and
in the spirit of collaboration and goodwill, and wished him and his family
good health and prosperity in their future endeavors. In conclusion, the
Prelate beseeched God to safeguard and keep in peace the Armenian homeland
and nation and to guide our leadership to serve for the welfare of our lands
and people with honesty and integrity.

FAREWELL DINNER HONORING PRINCIPAL VAZKEN MADENLIAN
On Wednesday, June 18, a farewell dinner was held at Brandview
Collection to celebrate and honor Mr. Vazken Madenlian, who retired after 23
years of service as Principal of Vahan and Anoush Chamlian School.
H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended and
conveyed his blessings and well wishes.
Members of the Chamlian extended family were joined by church and
community leaders and representatives as well as elected officials who had
come to honor Mr. Madenlian with certificates of appreciation and mementos.
ARF Central Committee Chair Dr. Viken Hovsepian was among the
evening's speakers who praised Mr. Madenlian's noteworthy contributions in
the field of education.
His Eminence commended Mr. Madenlian for his over two-decade long
exemplary service, leadership, and significant contributions to the
education and instruction of our youth. The Prelate spoke highly of Mr.
Madenlian as a loving husband and father, and recently as a proud
grandfather, as principled, humble, patriotic, fair-minded man and an
exemplary principal.
The Prelate then announced that in response to an appeal by the
Board of Regents of Prelacy Schools, he had requested a Letter of Blessing
from His Holiness Aram I, to which His Holiness had replied favorably. His
Eminence read the Pontifical Letter of Blessing, which he then presented to
Mr. Madenlian. The Prelate also presented the honoree with the book
"Rescued Armenian Treasures from Cilicia".
The program concluded with Mr. Madenlian's remarks conveying thanks
and gratitude to the evening's organizers and guests.

PRELATE WELCOMES KESSAB EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION REPRESENTATIVES
On Wednesday, June 18, H.E. Arcbishop Moushegh Mardirossian,
Prelate, welcomed board members of the Kessab Educational Association (KEA)
of Los Angeles, headed by Chairlady Mrs. Esther Chelebian-Tognozzi. The
Prelate was joined by Rev. Fr. Karekin Bedourian. Association member Mr.
John Titizian also participated.
The purpose of the visit was to share details of the recent
liberation of Kessab and to discuss means of providing much-needed
assistance to the residents who are facing great challenges as they return
to their homes and begin the rebuilding process.
The Prelate affirmed his support of the KEA's and Syrian-Armenian
Relief Fund's service and mission, and wished for the Syrian-Armenian
communities to overcome their harrowing circumstances and for the
restoration of peace and stability.

PRELATE WELCOMES HRAYR JEBEJIAN
OF THE BIBLE SOCIETY IN THE GULF
On Tuesday, June 17, 2014, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian,
Prelate, welcomed to the Prelacy Mr. Hrayr Jebejian, General Secretary of
the Bible Society in the Gulf, who was accompanied by Mr. Zaven Khanjian,
Chairman of the Syrian Armenian Relief Fund.
During the cordial visit, Mr. Jebejian spoke about the Bible
Society's service and endeavors and presented his latest publication, a
children's Bible for elementary school age students. The visit also
afforded the opportunity to discuss the state of affairs in the Middle East
and specifically in Syria, with regards to the Armenian communities in those
regions.
The Prelate commended Mr. Jebejian's decades-long service to the
Armenian community and the Bible Society, and wished him success in his
future endeavors.
Mr. Jebejian thanked the Prelate for the warm hospitality and as a
token of appreciation presented His Eminence with a book he had authored.
The Prelate presented the guest with his recently published book of
sermons and messages.
