President of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic Bako Sahakyan on
Saturday issued an address to the participants of an international
education conference.
The three-day public event, entitled Education without Discrimination
in the Frameworks of the Bologne Process, opened in the country's
capital Stepanakert on Friday. It has been organized by the joint
efforts of the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Education and the Artsakh
State University.
The president's address is below:
Respected participants of the conference,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I cordially welcome the participants of the international conference
Education without Discrimination within the framework of the Bologne
Process.
Holding this events in Artsakh with the participation of renowned
Armenian and foreign scientists and experts, representatives of the
educational sector is demanded and significant. Discussions held in
this format will help develop a more extensive and in-depth
understanding of education development-related issues across the globe
and in leading countries, as well as of the possible solutions and the
prospects of applying successful models in our republic.
In Artsakh, we put special emphasis on these very crucial issues,
especially considering the significance of education and science for
our country and nation. The education sector is considered a key
strategic trend of our state's development. Our people's intellectual
potential is the biggest wealth of Artsakh, and its development and
continuing improvement depends, to a large extent, on the
establishment and maintenance of firm ties and practical ties with the
civilized world in the education sector. Such a vision is also fully
in line with international norms, as high quality education promoting
all-round development of an individual is among the most significant
components securing the development of a state, fundamental human
rights and democracy. I am confident that the conference will help
effectively solve the tasks set before it and will have a useful
contribution to the development of education in our republic. I wish
everybody success and all the best".
