Ter-Petrosian: The Sargsyan regime lacks awareness of national interest

Armenia's entry into the Customs Union has already become an
irreversible process, while European integration of the country is
impossible in the foreseeable future, First Armenian President, leader
of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Levon Ter-Petrosian said today
at the rally held in Liberty Square of Yerevan in memory of the
victims of the tragic events in Yerevan on March 1, 2008.
"Can the regime led by Serzh Sargsyan carry out this complex mission?
In order to carry out this mission, the Sargsyan regime lacks an
awareness of national interest, otherwise Armenia and Artsakh would
not be desolated, while the people and their opinion would not be
oppressed. The national interest and the regime's interests are
incompatible and this is the greatest misfortune of the Armenian
people," Levon Ter-Petrosian said.
In his words, due to the policy implemented by the authorities,
Armenia now has a reputation of an unreliable partner both in Russia
and the West and structural reforms are needed to restore the
country's authority.
