ANALYST: AZERBAIJAN STARTS DIALOGUE WITH PUSHING UNACCEPTABLE CONDITIONS
March 12, 2014 | 16:09
YEREVAN. - Azerbaijan starts dialogue on settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh
by putting forward conditions a priori unacceptable for the Armenian
side, political analyst Alexander Markarov said.
His comments came as foreign ministers of Armenia andAzerbaijan held
separate meetings with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs earlier this week.
Talking about Azerbaijani FM's remarks indicating readiness to sign
a peace agreement, Markarov said there was nothing new, and Baku's
demands remained the same.
As to expected meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in March,
the political analyst believes the parties may start discussing basic
principles to reach peace. However, signing of any peace treaty is
out of the question.
