March 14, 2014
YEREVAN. - Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan is attempting to
endow himself with new powers. Moreover, he is doing that at the
expense of the government's powers, Zhoghovurd daily reports.
"During the government meeting yesterday [i.e., Thursday], SRC [i.e.,
State Revenue Committee] Chairman Gagik Khachatryan introduced a draft
decision on 'Making Changes in the December 17, 2009 No. 1491-N
Decision of the Armenian Government.'
"According to which, henceforth not the government, but rather the PM
personally will appoint Armenia's customs attaché to the EU and the
World Customs Organization," Zhoghovurd writes.
