Jews turned tragedy into culture, unlike Armenians - Armenian literary
    critic on Genocide

The Jewish nation's success in the Holocaust recognition efforts was
due to its talent of turning the tragedy into culture, a literary
critic has said, expressing regret that the Armenians did follow suit.

"The Jews had a success because they made culture and art the basic
tool of propaganda. They gained thanks to turning that experience into
culture. But ours [Genocide recognition attempts] remained limited to
wails," Arkmenik Nikoghosyan told reporters on Saturday.

He said one literary work devoted to the topic has now been translated
into dofferent languages and submitted for an international contest.

"If a piece [of literature] is honored with a prize, it will attract a
public attention. We will thus facilitate the recognition process.
Hence, literature can be really useful. Instead of translating foreign
writers' works, we must have our well-known samples translated into
different languages and later spread them. We know all about this now,
so it is necessary to introduce them to the public," Nikoghosyan
    added.
