Official: Russia is source of over 40% of foreign investments in Armenia
March 29, 2014 | 19:14
YEREVAN. - Russia is for Armenia a source of more than 40 percent of
foreign direct investments and over 80 percent of transfers, Armenian
president's administration official said.
Russia remained the largest investor in the Armenian economy over five
years, Vardan Aramyan said during the Second International Economic
Forum of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia on Saturday.
With regard to transfers , it is easier for migrant workers to travel
to Russia, since they need visas in Europe, and in most cases there
are language and cultural barriers.
Aramyan said the main problem is transport infrastructure, and here
Armenia can strengthen cooperation with both Russia and Georgia, as a
transit country
