Azerbaijan sends French reporter back to Moscow from airport - news agency
Baku, 1 May: A reporter of the Moscow bureau of the French i>Télé
digital channel, Irina Voloshina, was deported from Baku today [1
May]. She arrived in the Azerbaijani capital [Baku] at 0500 local time
[0000 gmt] in the morning to make a TV report on rights defender Leyla
Yunus.
Before reaching the border checkpoint, she was stopped and taken back
to the plane without any explanation. Voloshina was sent back to
Moscow at the 10 o'clock [0500 gmt] flight in the morning. Leyla
Yunus, whom the French reporter had contacted via the phone, told
Turan. To recap, Voloshina is a French citizen.
