Artsakh calls "destructive" the Baku Declaration on James Warlick
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh
has described the appeal of the Vice-Minister of Azerbaijan Araz
Azimov Foreign Affairs to recall the U.S. co-chair of the Minsk Group
James Warlick as "another manifestation of the destructive position of
the Azerbaijan ".
The day of the tour co-chair James Warlick in Los Angeles and Houston
to meet with Armenian and Azeri communities respectively, Baku has
stepped up its rhetoric against the U.S. diplomat and urging OSCE
officials to remember.
The Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov Azerbaijan accused James
Warlick bias, citing anonymous sources in Washington as saying that
the U.S. diplomat "has close ties with the Armenian diaspora in the
United States, which holds a strong position on the resolution of the
conflict [Nagorno-Karabakh]. "
Azimov tried to justify his baseless allegation by saying that "even a
glance at the comments on social networks shows that the U.S. Co
prefer to communicate more with the Armenian diaspora in the United
States" according to the news agency Azeri APA. "In general, some of
his statements are provocative with rumors spread by the co-chair of a
possible escalation of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan,"
said Azimov.
"We have repeatedly expressed our concern about the activity of the
Minsk Group and the U.S. co-chair of the Minsk Group of the OSCE. We
can not condone the actions of Warlick, which reduces confidence in
the Minsk Group and undermine the negotiating process. All these
statements show that James Warlick has consciously and deliberately
took these measures to advance the interests of the Armenian side,
"said Azimov.
"All the facts mentioned above give the Azerbaijani side every reason
to be wary of co-president of the United States, refuse to work with
him and call the Chairman of the OSCE to remind the Warlick as
co-chair of the Minsk Group of the OSCE "concluded Azimov.
"This statement is another manifestation of the destructive position
of Azerbaijan aimed at undermining the format of the three co-chairs
of the Minsk Group of the OSCE and to extend artificially the
resolution of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Such a position of Azerbaijan testifies to the absence of his
participation in the final settlement of the conflict, "said the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh in a statement.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharian told News.am
that Baku has always criticized the co-chairs of the Minsk Group of
the OSCE in an attempt to influence their decisions in favor of the
destructive policy Azerbaijan. "This most recent U.S. co-chair Baku
criticism is another attempt to blackmail the co-chairs and blame them
for obstruction Azerbaijan resolution of the Karabakh conflict," added
Kocharian.
