RUSSIA WILL TRY IMPROVING RELATIONS WITH AZERBAIJAN ON KARABAKH'S ACCOUNT - ANALYST

YEREVAN. â?" Russia will attempt to improve relations with Azerbaijan
on the account of Nagorno Karabakh, Armenia-based Modus Vivendi Center
Director, political scientist Ara Papyan said at a press conference
on Tuesday.
As per Papyan, following Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan's
announcement on the country's accession to the Russia-led Customs
Union, Kremlin thinks that official Yerevan is already "in the pocket,"
and, now, it is Azerbaijan's turn.
"[Official] Baku has oil and [natural] gas, [and] therefore money,
too. It remains to be motivated by Nagorno-Karabakh," the analyst
noted.
At the same time, according to him, official Moscow is cautious of
Armenia's false perception.
"Despite the 'kinship relations' with Armenia, Russia does not
stop supplying weapons to Azerbaijan. Kremlin is 'withdrawing,'
but it is actively developing the business," the political scientist
specifically stressed.
He added that unlike Europe, which can give up financial resources for
the sake of strategic interests, Russia does not have such a culture.
"The Kremlin does not want war in Karabakh, but it indirectly
contributes to it by its actions," Ara Papyan stated.
