PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS ON CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM IN ARMENIA

VIENNA, Austria
The following information was released by the Organization for Security
and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE):
A series of public consultations on a draft concept paper on
constitutional reform in Armenia, will be held in Yerevan on 20,
21 and 29 May 2014.
The consultations are organized by the Specialized Commission on
Constitutional Reforms under the President of the Republic of Armenia,
in co-operation with the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the USAID's
Support to National Assembly Programme. The debate aims to raise public
awareness and participation in the constitutional reform process.
The consultations will cover the following subjects, and will be
presented by the members of the Specialized Commission:
May 20: Human Rights and the Rule of Law
May 21: Separation and Balance of Powers
May 29: Judiciary
The Chairman of the Constitutional Court, the Dean of the Law Faculty
of the Yerevan State University, high-level representatives from the
Justice Ministry, and representatives of international organizations
will attend the event.
All the media are invited to participate in, and cover the meetings
on 20, 21 and 29 May 2014. The meetings will start at 10:00 am at
the Ani Hall of the Ani Plaza Hotel, Yerevan.
