Armenia and Iran signed memorandum of understanding on air transportation

YEREVAN (ARMENPRESS)-- The aviation authorities of the Republic of
Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran on May 22 signed a memorandum
of understanding on air transportation.
As "Armenpress" was informed from the Department of Information and
Public Relations of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of
Armenia, the memorandum was signed by the Deputy Minister of Economy
Sergey Avetisyan and the Director-General of the Department of Legal
and International Affairs of the Civil Aviation Organization of the
Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Saeed Sharafi.
The memorandum is designed to eliminate the limitations between the
two countries, existing in the air transportation sector in the
frequency of flights, routes and capacity. Thus, a beneficial, free
competitive environment will be created for the companies of the two
countries and a wide range of possibilities to deepen the relationship
in aviation.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Reisi,
Embassy First Secretary Reza Mostafa, IRI Civil Aviation
Organization's chief expert on international air agreements Mehdi
Zand, as well as the members of the working group on reforms of the
aviation sector in the Republic of Armenia.
