HEALTH MINISTRY REACTS TO THE DEATH WOMAN DURING CHILDBIRTH IN GYUMRI
YEREVAN, May 30. / ARKA /. Armenian health ministry reacted to the
death of a woman during childbirth in Gyumri by vowing to step up
oversight in hospitals of the country.
The woman died on May 28 in a maternity hospital in the second largest
city of Gyumri due to childbirth complications. The examination found
that the cause of death was amniotic fluid embolism (penetration of
amniotic fluid into the mother's bloodstream).
Health minister Armen Muradyan ordered the chief obstetrician Razmik
Abrahamyan to go to Gyumri to examine the case in detail. -0-
