ARMENIA ABLE TO OPERATE SUCCESSFULLY IN CU MARKET - HEAD OF EDB YEREVAN OFFICE
YEREVAN, October 31. /ARKA/. The Customs Union market is quite
capacious, and Armenia can operate there successfully, head of the
Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) office in Yerevan Sergey Ignatov said.
Armenian communities across post-Soviet area may contribute to this,
he said.
On October 10 Armenia signed the Eurasian Economic Union treaty that
will come in force on January 1, 2015.
Ignatov said the EDB will continue its cooperation with commercial
banks within banking operations opportunities available in Armenia.
Yet, there will be some limitations due to risks, he said.
There are several major projects under consideration in other fields,
including mining, energy, transport infrastructure, trade financing,
the head of the EDB Yerevan office said. This
Eurasian Development Bank is an international financial organization
established by Russia and Kazakhstan in January 2006 to foster
development of its member countries' market economies.
The bank's authorized capital exceeds $1.5 billion. Its members are
Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. -0--
