Different reasons for higher crime rate - minister

In response to Tert.am's question concerning the reasons for a higher
number of grave crimes in Armenia, Minister of Justice Hovhannes
Manukyan cited different reasons.
"I have not conducted any special survey and cannot cite the exact
reasons. They can be social and psychological. Each particular
situation requires an analysis," he said.
Vice-Chief of Armenia's Police Anubakh Hambaryan recently stated that
636 more crimes were recorded during a period under review this year
as compared with the corresponding period last year. Specifically,
felonies showed a 19.4% increase, and serious crimes a 10% increase.
