HAYKAKAN ZHAMANAK: CARREFEUR'S TOUGH RULES FOR ARMENIAN BUSINESSES
11:09 * 07.11.14
The paper has addressed the possible impact of Carrefeur's plans to
launch a hypermarket in Armenia.
It says that the French brand demands discounts of up to 25% for
taking products, as opposed to other Armenian supermarkets where the
required discount is up to 8%.
Many manufacturers and suppliers have reportedly complained that
they may thus not only lose profit but also work with damage. But the
problem doesn't finish with that, says the paper, as many suppliers
claim that Carrefeur demands a higher discount to allow them have
their products displayed on the shop windows. The paper says that
this may essentially reduce the sale volumes, with many products
being likely to slip customers' eyed in the huge hypermarket set to
open in Yerevan Mall.
