ARMENIAN ASKE GROUP TO SETTLE PRODUCTION OF 20,000 METALLIC BALLS PER YEAR
YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. Armenian Aske Group reinforcement
producing company is planning to settle production of 20,000 of
metallic balls per year as from 2015, member of Founders' Board of
the company Vahan Harutiunyan said at a discussion on mining and
metallurgy sector problems in the office of the minister of economy
Karen Chshmarityan.
The company bought equipment for metallic ball production and intends
to set up production sufficient for the Armenian market, he said.
The current reinforcement production capacity of the company is up
to 4,000 tons per month, which is sufficient for the local market.
"We are actively negotiating with various companies to procure a
new furnace that will allow us exporting our products to neighboring
countries. This project will be completed in 2016", Harutiunyan said.
The current number of staff in the company is 450 and the average
wages is about 250,000 drams. Production of metallic balls will help
create another 100 jobs, he said.
Diameter of reinforcement produced by the company is from 10 to 32 mm
and that of metallic balls is from 80 to 120 mm. Resources of scrap
metal used for the production are sufficient in the market for another
10 years, according to the company's estimates.
Aske Group is located in Charentsavan town and is specializing in
black metal (cast iron and steel) smelting. The company suspended
its operations in 2008 due to the global crisis, but was re-opened
as a reinforcement production in 2013 after the government decided
to postpone VAT payments in September 2011. ($1 - 415.99 drams). -0--
