Stepanakert reports shooting along separation line during the week
YEREVAN/BAKU. Nov 22
Stepanakert reports violations of the ceasefire along the separation
line between the armed forces of self-proclaimed republic of Nagorno
Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
"According to reports of the defense army of Karabakh, on November
16-22 the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire on the
separation line about 1,200 times. During the said period over 13,000
shots were made in the direction of Armenian positions from weapons of
different caliber," the press service of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense
Ministry reported on Saturday.
Advanced military units of the self-proclaimed republic "gave an
adequate reply," the report says.
"In case of provocations there will always be reply steps. An adequate
reply will be given at the very least," Armenian Defense Minister
Seiran Oganian said to reporters on Saturday.
"We will intensify service along the first line as far as monitoring,
identification and elimination is concerned. These measures will be
directed against those who try to violate the ceasefire mode," the
minister said.
Meanwhile, the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan on Saturday reported
that in the past 24 hours the Armenian side violated the ceasefire on
the separation line 75 times.
