  • Apple's Armenian Keyboard Becomes Free For All

APPLE'S ARMENIAN KEYBOARD BECOMES FREE FOR ALL

YEREVAN, September 29. / ARKA /. Armenian education and science
minister Armen Ashotyan reported today through his Facebook page that
Armenian-language keyboard on Apple devices has become free.

Back in early 2013 Ashotyan used Facebook to ask Apple CEO Tim Cook
to develop Armenian keyboard for the iPad.

Ashotyan wrote that Apple's mobile devices were becoming very
widespread in Armenia both among Armenians in Armenia proper and those
living in other countries, however, the iPad, used by teachers and
students did not enable them to work and communicate in the Armenian
language, because the operating system lacked Armenian keyboard.

According to Ashotyan, the ministry of education and science held
talks with the developers of the Apple's first Armenian keyboard to
    make it free.

"I want to announce that HayTar (Armenian letters) application is
now free for all users, "Ashotyan wrote in his page.

The minister said that from now on Armenian users may enjoy
communication in the network in their language. He also stressed that
not a penny was used to advance this initiative.

HayTar application was created specifically by Armenian developers
    for Apple's operating systems.

As for Android operating system it provides a free ability to write
texts in the Armenian language. -0--
