ZHAMANAK: ARMENIA'S EURASIAN INTEGRATION HANGING ON AIR

A recent Kremlin statement confirming Russian President Vladimir
Putin's participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) summit in
Minsk makes no mention about Armenia's membership treaty, the paper
says, citing the official report.
Commenting on the statement, the paper suggests two possible options:
either Armenia's membership issue has been excluded from the agenda
or the agenda submitted is not complete. If the latter scenario is
the case, then Armenia's membership turns out not to be important
enough for the Kremlin to be referred to.
And that being the case, says the paper, Russia does not care at all
whether or not Armenia will join the economic bloc.
"The key question for Russia has been resolved after all: Armenia is
isolated from the European Union, deprived of the opportunity to sign
the EU Association Agreement," writes the paper.
