    NUMBER OF MOBILE SUBSCRIBERS EXCEEDED 3.3 MILLION IN ARMENIA IN SECOND QUARTER

    YEREVAN, October 9. /ARKA/. Number of mobile subscribers in Armenia
    totaled 3,348,799 by the end of the second quarter 2014, by 29,868 more
    than in Q1, an Armenian information security expert Samvel Martirosyan
    says on his website referring to information from mobile companies.

    Mobile penetration rate in the country is 120%.

    According to the information released, number of VivaCell-MTS
    subscribers was 2,121,831 (increase of 19,354 in the quarter). Number
    of ArmenTel (trading as Beeline) subscribers increased by 19,573 to
    a total of 718,954. Number of Orange Armenia subscribers was 508,014
    in the period (reduction of 9,059).

    A total of 1.56 million cellular phones were connected to the Internet
    as of the end of the quarter.

    According to the report, number of mobile Internet users keeps growing.

    In particular, 1,005,504 VivaCell-MTS subscribers used mobile Internet
    in the second quarter, an increase of 2,493 compared to the quarter
    before. Number of ArmenTel subscribers using mobile Internet rose by
    1,859 to 301,721 in the period. At the same time, Orange Armenia had
    254,319 mobile Internet users, by 11,731 less than in Q1.

    There are current three mobile operators on the Armenian communications
    market - ArmenTel (trading as Beeline, 100% subsidiary of Russian
    Vimpelcom), VivaCell-MTS (daughter company of Russian MTS) and
    Orange Armenia (daughter company of France's Orange). On July 30,
    the operators established a union to introduce MNP service in the
