MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) - Armenia does not share border with the
EEU member states, but this will not hamper the integration, Armenia
President Serzh Sargsyan said at the session of the Supreme Eurasian
Economic Council, BelTA has learned.
"The membership of Armenia has its own specificity which is the
absence of common borders with the rest of the Eurasian Economic
Union. However, we believe that this would not hamper the integration
of Armenia into the single system of regulation, transportation,
energy, telecommunications and finance in our common economic area,"
he said.
"We are well aware of the special responsibilities that we assume by
joining the treaty," said the Armenian leader.
Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the states that have founded the EEU
with reaching the new frontier. He noted that the EEU is the largest
economic association geographically.
The Armenian President noted that in the last decade it has become
a good tradition to take important decisions in Minsk. The current
summit is no exception. He thanked the President of Belarus for the
good organization of today's events.
