AZERBAIJAN'S LEADERS NOT AWARE DIPLOMATIC MEANS ONLY WAY TO SETTLEMENT OF NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT - SEYRAN OHANYAN

Azerbaijan's leaders are not fully aware that peaceful diplomatic means
are the only way to a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,
Armenia's Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan stated at a meeting with
the teaching staff and students of the French University in Armenia.
He stressed the unacceptability of tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani
border because Azerbaijan is in conflict with Nagorno-Karabakh.
The body of Armenian citizen Karen Petrosyan, who was murdered in
captivity in Azerbaijan, has been handed over to Armenia and is
now being examined by experts of Armenia's Ministry of Defense in
cooperation with international experts. The expert examination will
be followed by a legal appraisal.
With respect to Azerbaijani captives in Nagorno-Karabakh, and
Azerbaijan's application to international bodies for help in
repatriation, Minister Ohanyan said:
"This issue is under Nagorno-Karabakh authorities' jurisdiction. As
far as I know the persons in question are criminals and must be
held responsible."
