VENICE COMMISSION DEMANDS THAT PARLIAMENT VICE-SPEAKER BE OPPOSITION REP

The provisions of the constitutional reforms are important not only for
Armenia but also for other countries that are on the path of democratic
development, Mr Gianni Buquicchio, President of the Venice Commission,
said on October 24 during the 9th international conference on the
"Constitutional Status of Human Dignity.
He assured the participants that the cooperation with the Venice
Commission would be ongoing. At the same time Gianni Buquicchio singled
out several important provisions which he said should be included in
the concept of constitutional reforms. One of them implies that an
opposition representative be appointed Vice-Speaker of the National
Assembly
